Share Link Management

Share Link Management

The Share Link Management feature gives you flexibility and control over sharing the real-time location of one or more of your GPS devices without having to give someone their own username and password.  When the person clicks the link in a browser they will see a map and the real-time location of the devices you have shared with them.

Use Cases

There are multiple ways our customers use links, here are some examples:

  • Provide a link to your customer so they can track the status of a shipment or delivery

  • Temporary access for Subcontractors or other stakeholders

  • Temporary access for family or friends

  • Elderly or special needs monitoring

You can create a share link in the Link Management page. You can generate multiple links, organize them, give them an expiry, date, delete and edit them all in one place. It simplifies managing shared links and helps keep everything organized.

Creating a Link

Head to the Map page, and click on ‘Share link management’.

Once clicked, you can now fill up the details:

Devices - Select the specific devices you want to share the link with. You can choose a few or all of the available devices.

Link duration - Set the duration for how long the link will remain active. Once the time expires, the link will no longer be accessible.

Note: If the link remains open in a window, once it expires, the page will display an error message, terminating access to the device monitoring.

Email - You can also enter up to 10 email addresses where the link will be sent directly. This is useful for sharing with specific people directly.

Click ‘Create Link’ and you should be able to see all the links you have created.

Actionable Widgets

1. Link Preview - Clicking this button will open a new page showing and will display all devices associated with the link, allowing you to verify which devices can be viewed.

2. Edit Link - This will allow you to modify the existing link details. You can edit the description, add or remove devices, and change the link duration. Click Update, and the modifications will be applied to the link.

3. Share Link - This allows you to copy the link or send it directly via email. You can input up to 10 email addresses, and the link will be sent to those recipients automatically.

4. Delete Link - This action will permanently remove the link. Once deleted, the link cannot be recovered, and it will no longer be accessible.

Status

The Status toggle allows you to quickly deactivate or reactivate a link without deleting it.

Deactivate - To make the link temporarily inaccessible, simply toggle the switch to deactivate it. The link will no longer be accessible.

Reactivate - To make the link active again, toggle the switch back. But if it shows that the link has expired, you'll need to edit the duration of the link first before it can be accessible again.
